Here’s the blurb “In Berlin, the Stroke Urban Art Fair takes place from September 13th to 16th, 2012 at the Postbahnhof and marks itself as the alternative to the usual suspects of the Berlin Kunstherbst.
During 4 days, the art fair presents the diversity of urban art and culture in all its dynamic facets, forms, and colors, staged by the different exhibiting galleries, projects and live performers. Being young, fresh and non-conformist.”
For artists it must be one of the most affordable fairs in Europe when you consider the exposure, however I’d drop all this “youth” malarkey and admit that it’s more about marketing than anything. I suppose “young artist” is sexier than “broke artist” but if I had the clout I’d start up a massive B(art)er fair where hungry artists and potential buyers can haggle over a price, no matter their age, shoe size, sex, colour, or skateboarding skills. I suppose that’s probably the last thing Stroke want to hear.
Still, here’s some nice pics of young people being creative for the camera…
