Kaws “Down Time” exibition in High Museum of Art Atlanta

A major retrospective and a globe-trotting book tour were just some of the endeavors embarked by artist Brian Donnelly, better known as KAWS, over the last year. Hence, the was a certain degree of pertinent when he named his latest solo exhibition “Down Time”. Currently on view at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art, the exhibit is a revisit of KAWS’ most recent career as one of the most celebrated contemporary artists. Both extensive and expansive, “Down Time” features several impressive undertakings, including a 22-foot high mural and a massive triptych measuring at 24-foot long. A series of 27 disc paintings accentuate an entire hall within the museum, along with a collaborative project with famed fashion photographer David Sims. And of course, all visitors were greeted by a familiar figure – the 16-foot Companion, out on the museum’s plaza. KAWS’ “Down Time” exhibition on display.
