ALL CITY CANVAS MEXICO
ALL CITY CANVAS was an urban art festival born in Mexico that became one of the best in the world and had its first edition in Mexico City.
From April 30 to May 5, nine of the most celebrated artists of the urban art movement like Roa from Belgium, Escif from Spain, Vhils from Portugal, El Mac from the USA, Interesni Kazki from Ukraine, Herakut from Germany and Sego and Saner from Mexico, intervened 8 emblematic walls of Mexico City, thereby offering the best spaces in the city to the best talent of the urban art movement worldwide, who achieved a unique experience and offered citizens a new cultural option.
The festival sought to unite efforts of the movement around the world through three strands: WALLS, WORDS and WORKS.
WALLS was the intervention of eight unique and symbolic walls of the city, which are mainly located in Mexico´s City center. These buildings include such places as the Chihuahua building in Tlatelolco, the W Hotel Mexico City in Polanco, two walls of El Universal newspaper(the oldest and most important newspaper in the country), among many other representative and historic places.
WORDS was a series of four lectures given by international and national experts in the urban art movement, which helped to contextualize the world of ALL CITY CANVAS. These lectures took place in the National Museum of Art (MUNAL).
From Thursday 3 to Friday 27 May, the Gallery Fifty24mx hosted the WORKS section, with an exhibition of the artworks produced by the 8 artists of the Festival´s lineup.
